Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect the minimum needed to run FindingFreedom. Specifically:

• • Email address — to identify your account and send ally alerts.
• • Device name — to show you which devices are active in your dashboard.
• • Event timestamps — when the app detects something, we store the time it happened.
• • Blurred screenshots — only when possible explicit content is detected. The original image is analyzed on your device and never leaves it; only a heavily blurred copy is kept. A blurred copy is stored locally at %APPDATA%\FindingFreedom\flagged\ and auto-deleted after 30 days. For flagged events, a blurred copy is also stored in secure, access-controlled storage and shown to only your own accountability allies on their dashboard (so they can review it) — and, for high-confidence alerts, attached to their email. No one else, including FindingFreedom, can view it. You can request deletion at any time.
• • Window titles — sanitized (PII removed) and stored only when a detection event occurs.

What we don't collect

• ✓ Browsing history or web activity
• ✓ Screenshots of content that wasn't flagged
• ✓ Personal files, documents, or messages
• ✓ Keystrokes or typed text
• ✓ Location data
• ✓ Payment information (we use Buy Me a Coffee, which has its own privacy policy)

Where data is stored

Account data (email, device names, event timestamps, window titles) is stored in Supabase (US East region), a managed database platform. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Screenshots are stored only on your local device — they are never uploaded to our servers. FindingFreedom employees cannot view your screenshots.

Your rights

You can:

• • Delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us.
• • Remove any accountability ally from your account from the dashboard.
• • Request a copy of your data by emailing us.

Data retention

• • Detection event logs — retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted from our servers.
• • Local screenshots — stored on your device in %APPDATA%\FindingFreedom\flagged\ and automatically deleted after 30 days.
• • Streak data — kept indefinitely so your progress is never lost unless you delete your account.
• • Account deletion — email us at findingfreedom.notify@gmail.com and we will permanently delete your account and all associated data.
